LIVE ENTERTAINMENT Featuring Vocalist Candy Kresmery There is no question that a resurgence of interest in the standards has taken place in the past 20 years. Artists such as Diana Krall, Rod Stewart, Bette Midler and Michael Buble have released albums that have captured the timelessness of the music contained in the Great American Songbook. Paralleling this resurgence, Candy Kresmery began her love of these timeless standards years ago. Candy would love watching how that music stirred the hearts of everyone. Over the years, Candy became a much-requested favorite, being described as "honey-voiced," "elegant," "a combination of power with gentle grace" and "lush and lovely." Several years ago, Candy brought her love of jazz performance to high-end restaurants such as Chicago Prime and 5 O'clock Steakhouse and retirement communities in Huntley and Barrington. Besides her background in jazz performance, Candy was classically trained at Northern Illinois University. She also has a background as a contemporary Christian artist performing as a soloist and member of the music ministry at Rick Warren's Saddleback Valley Church in California as well as local churches. She has also performed at the Woodstock Opera House, is currently a member of Chicagoland Voices performance group, and volunteers with the Willow Creak Church Senior Ministry sharing her music with the elderly in nursing homes. MASTER OF CEREMONIES Featuring Michael Ancheta Michael is excited to be this year's MC for the SSPP Fall Gala! Michael has been a strong supporter of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church since moving to Cary 9 years ago. Michael and Shelley belong to the Cary adult community choir, Chicagoland Voices. His children Nathan (7th grade) and Nicholas (4th Grade) attend SSPP School as well.
